HELP NEEDED IMMEDIATELY: HOME HEALTH AIDES|
Home Health Aides (HHAs) enable elderly, disabled, and ill patients to live in their own homes rather than in a health care facility. With their help, patients can spend less time in the hospital, which not only reduces health care expenses, but also allows patients to enjoy the comfort of their own home.
HHAs perform duties for the patient as called for in the plan of care. These duties include changing bed linen, cleaning, doing laundry, and running errands. Aides help patients with dressing, bathing, grooming, and moving around the house; they may also entertain patients by reading aloud or playing games or cards.
HHAs spend a lot of time walking and moving about. They must have sufficient strength to turn, lift, and assist patients with movement.
HHAs must be compassionate and truly interested in helping others. The ability to read a map and drive a car are necessary because an aide may see four to six clients during a typical day and must travel to each location. Entering someone's home and adjusting to their individual situation requires flexibility and the ability to improvise. Other important qualities are patience, honesty, good health, and the willingness to follow instructions.
We have several HHA positions available, both in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area and in Monroe County. If interested, please contact (734) 975-0755 and ask for the Program Coordinator.
